During the 2022 application process, over 3400 people tried their hand at applying to kood/Jõhvi. After a successful Selection Sprint, we opened our doors to 300 new students, who started their 2-year journey on the 21st of November.

The 2nd batch joined our 1st batch of students, who are halfway done with their program already. Altogether, kood/Jõhvi has 500 students from all areas of life.
Who is the 2nd batch of kood/Jõhvi?
The 2nd batch consists of 300 new students from all around the world. We have people from 19 different nationalities! The average age of a student is 27, the median age is 26! The oldest student is 64 years old!

Gender-wise, 31% of the students are women, and 69% are men. Awesome to see so many women, let’s hope that the percentage keeps rising from year to year.
The students divide into people learning full-time on-site and living in the school building with free accommodation. The other half of the students are studying remotely and use the school premises now and then.
What does the 2-year journey look like for the students?
Well, in short, the two years curriculum will bring students to a level of mid to senior Full-Stack Developer. Students will go through a large variety of domains and languages.
Composition:
- 50+ projects (in Go, Javascript, Rust but also in C, C++, Ruby-on-Rails, PHP, Python…);
- 3 language pools (Go, Javascript, Rust),
- 5+ Branches (Specialisation)

kood/Jõhvi’s self-learning methodology aims to develop students’ ability to learn how to learn, how to solve complex problems, and how to be co-creative. And thus, creates an intelligent collective.
