In 2021, we opened our first campus in a small town in Estonia with a not-so-small ambition \u2014 to make high-quality tech education accessible to everyone willing to work for it. Just a few years later, we\u2019re proud to say: we\u2019re growing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With support from ESTDEV<\/a><\/strong>, \/\/kood is launching new peer-learning programmes in Ukraine<\/strong> and Kenya<\/strong>. These pilots will support adult learners with limited prior experience to reskill into software developers<\/strong> using our proven, peer-to-peer learning model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Ukraine and Kenya?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Both countries are bursting with talent \u2014 but access to fast, practical IT education can be limited or disrupted. That\u2019s where we come in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Ukraine<\/strong>, our new initiative kood\/Zhytomyr<\/strong> is run in partnership with Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University<\/a><\/strong>, a leading tech university with a strong digital focus. The programme is delivered in a hybrid format<\/strong> to support consistent learning despite the ongoing war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe shortage of developers is real, and not just because of the war. We need learning models that work fast \u2014 ones that let people reskill quickly and solve real-world problems,\u201d says Dymytrii Grytsyshen<\/strong>, Vice-Rector at Zhytomyr Polytechnic. \u201cThe peer-learning method behind \/\/kood is exactly the kind of innovation that helps us move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kenya<\/strong>, the first phase is a three-week Selection Sprint<\/strong> \u2014 an intensive bootcamp in Nairobi hosted with GreatWell Training College<\/strong>. Learners who pass will begin a year-long remote programme to become full-stack developers. The entire programme is delivered via our cloud-based platform<\/strong>, making high-quality education accessible from anywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese are just our first steps in Ukraine and Kenya,\u201d says Taavet Hinrikus<\/strong>, co-founder of \/\/kood. \u201cWhile in Estonia we created \/\/kood to accelerate the training of IT talent, in these new countries we\u2019re giving people tools to shape their own future \u2014 and strengthen their communities along the way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUkraine remains our most important development cooperation partner,\u201d adds Margus Gering<\/strong>, ESTDEV\u2019s Head of Development Cooperation for Ukraine. \u201cBy supporting such projects, we help strengthen Ukraine\u2019s tech education \u2014 especially digital skills in vocational training \u2014 which are vital for rebuilding the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
