More like Friday the Code Day! On September 13, we officially kicked off our&nbsp;<strong>fifth batch<\/strong>&nbsp;of future coding wizards at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/kood.tech\/\">kood\/J\u00f5hvi<\/a>, welcoming&nbsp;<strong>175<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>new students<\/strong>&nbsp;who are about to dive headfirst into the world of tech. And guess what? This year has been our biggest yet! With the students from January&#8217;s intake, we\u2019ve brought on board a total of&nbsp;<strong>295 future developers<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; a 33% growth from last year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">During the opening ceremony, our CEO, Lauri, gave a big shout-out to all the new students in J\u00f5hvi:&nbsp;<em>&#8220;Huge congrats to everyone who made it! While anyone can apply to kood\/J\u00f5hvi &#8211; all you need is to be an adult and know some basic English &#8211; getting through the Sprint isn\u2019t easy. Our entrance exam (aka the Selection Sprint) is one of the toughest out there, requiring three weeks of full-on dedication.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kood.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/KJstart-27-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12304\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Lauri and Batch 5 students<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">But it&#8217;s worth it. Lauri also highlighted how kood\/J\u00f5hvi has set its spot in Estonia\u2019s education scene:&nbsp;<em>&#8220;In just three years, we\u2019ve shown that a self-learning, peer-to-peer coding school can really shake things up in a good way. The feedback from our graduates and the companies hiring them proves it &#8211; our 100% practical approach gives students the real-world skills they need to advance in the tech job market. With 295 new students this year, it\u2019s clear the appetite for becoming a software developer is stronger than ever!&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\"><strong>Who&#8217;s in Batch 5?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">Let\u2019s talk about our awesome new cohort:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list wp-el\">\n<li>Students from\u00a0<strong>19<\/strong>\u00a0different nationalities\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Average age:\u00a0<strong>27<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1\/3<\/strong>\u00a0have a higher education degree, while others have vocational or secondary qualifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">The diverse group represents all walks of life, and we couldn\u2019t be more excited to see them grow into full-stack developers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kood.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/KJstart-24-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12305\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Opening presentations<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\"><strong>The Future is Yours<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">After completing the program, students will be ready to take on the tech world with practical skills that companies are actually looking for. But it\u2019s not just about coding &#8211; our Head of Learning Centre, K\u00e4tlin, emphasises that teamwork and time management are just as important.&nbsp;<em>&#8220;Our program is flexible and focuses on individual growth, but mastering teamwork and time management will help students achieve their best results and get prepped for their tech careers.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">At kood\/J\u00f5hvi, the learning experience spans from 12 to 18 months and covers everything from front-end and back-end development to specialisations like cybersecurity, mobile app development, AI, and data analysis. By the end of it, our students are more than just coders &#8211; they\u2019re full-stack developers ready to make their mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kood.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/KJstart-14-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12306\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Happy students<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\"><strong>What\u2019s Next?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">In just three years, kood\/J\u00f5hvi has welcomed 1 000 students, and over 100 graduates have already found jobs in the tech industry. Some of our alumni have even started their own companies, like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/minds.ee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MindSee<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.strikt.tech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">strikt.tech<\/a>. The global reach of our school is expanding too &#8211; our students come from 33 different countries, with 25% of them being women. Plus, this summer saw the opening of our first international school,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/koodsisu.fi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kood\/Sisu in Finland<\/a>, and we\u2019re gearing up to open kood\/V\u00f5ru in Estonia in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">None of this would be possible without the amazing support from over 40 individual entrepreneurs and companies like SEB, Wise, Bolt, Swedbank, Veriff, and many more.
